Sunnylands presents its annual Music in the Gardens concert series, happening every Sunday in March from 11am to 1pm with a different musical act each week. The public is invited to stroll in the gardens or bring a lawn chair and have a picnic on the Great Lawn while enjoying a live musical performance.

March 5: The Louie Blues:
Named after exemplary blues artist “Louie Bluie” (aka Howard Armstrong), The Louie Bluies return to Sunnylands with an extremely eclectic catalogue of songs from blues to ragtime, country to jazz, and a little bit of jam music to round it out. The Bluies are composed of Joey Latimer, Marshall Hawkins, and Don Reed.
March 12: Dave Blackburn & Robin Adler-Sunday
Dave Blackburn and Robin Adler last performed at Sunnylands in 2017 with their musical group, Mutts of the Planet. As lifelong Joni Mitchell fans, this guitar and vocal duo will be playing some her hits while ranging from the Great American Songbook, British rock, and Bossa Nova, along with their own compositions.
March 19: The Lentones
The Lentones return to Sunnylands after a six-year hiatus with an original sound that blends country, swing, and blues. Led by front man Lenny Hansel, the Lentones are composed of a group of well-traveled and versed musicians, including bassist Gilbert Hansen and percussionist Rodger Reeder.
March 26: Greg Jones: The music of Ray Charles
Rounding out the 2023 music series is a performance by singer, composer, and pianist Greg Jones and The Greg Jones Band. In his show, “A Tribute to Genius: The Music of Ray Charles,” the band dials up classic tunes made famous by the legendary singer-songwriter.
