February 9, 2023
Join the La Quinta Public Library as they celebrate all things Historical Fiction for the 4th annual BOOK FEST the week of February 6 – 11, 2023.
As part of the weeklong celebration, stop by the MakerSpace room Thursday, February 9th between 10 AM and 5 PM to take part in our Maker Craft program: Steampunk Haberdashery
What is STEAMPUNK? It is a subgenre of science fiction that incorporates retro futuristic technology and aesthetics inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery.
For the craft program, you can visit Prof. Verne’s corner where you can learn how to construct a mini top hat out of laser cut pieces of foam and hot glue. Decorate your new chapeau with bits and bobs to add a steampunk flair. Or you can visit Miss Ada’s studio to create a clockwork broach or lapel pin inspired by Steampunk literature.
This craft program is FREE while supplies last and recommended for patrons ages 6 and older.
The Creation Station is located inside the La Quinta Public Library across the hall from the Community Program Room.
