In part one of this two-part program, local amateur astronomer, Randy Baron, will teach participants how he uses pastel pencil and paper to create stunning sketches of astronomical objects. Participants will then have the opportunity to try their hand at some lunar sketching, copying images taken by the Observatory’s PlaneWave Instruments CDK 700. At the end of the program, the sketches will be collected. Then, all are welcome to join us at the Observatory on Friday, April 4, 8:30-9:30 pm for a gallery open house. All sketches will be on display alongside telescopes featuring the Moon.
