2025 Doors Open California

2025 Doors Open California

September 13, 2025

This September, the California Preservation Foundation presents the 4th Annual Doors Open California, a statewide celebration unlocking exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to California’s most fascinating historic places.
Over four weekends in September 2025, more than 70 sites — from hidden garden courtyards and museum vaults to private architectural gems — will open for rare discovery.
We are proud that Desert Hot Springs is one of the featured communities, hosted locally by the Desert Hot Springs Historical Society. Our city will welcome visitors into two of its most treasured landmarks:
🔹Cabot’s Pueblo Museum – A hand-built architectural marvel filled with Native American art, artifacts, and Cabot Yerxa’s inspiring legacy.
🔸The Historic Rock House – A 1946 Riverside County Historic Landmark and new home of the Desert Hot Springs Historical Society, featuring exhibits, archives, and a demonstration garden that tells the story of our desert heritage.
This is more than an event — it is an opportunity to celebrate Desert Hot Springs’ place in California’s history, take pride in our cultural identity, and share our story with visitors from across the state.
